Youth
Girls Grades 2-4: Practice Monday & Wednesday from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm at the Reiche School.
Boys Grades 2-4: Practice Tuesday & Thursday from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm at the Reiche School.
Girls Grades 5 & 6: Practice Monday & Wednesday from 5:30 pm to 7 pm at Payson Park.
Boys Grades 5 & 6: Practice Tuesday & Thursday from 5:30 pm to 7 pm at Payson Park.
Grades 2-4 Games: Home games are usually played at Kennedy Park (Fox Field) on Fox street across from Rising Tide on Sunday mornings and early afternoons. Away games could be Saturday mornings or early afternoons.
Middle School
Girls Grade 7 & 8: Practices Monday through Thursday at Douglas Field from 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm. Home games are usually at 4 pm at Fox Field. Away games are mostly during the week and start between 4 pm and 5 pm.
Boys Grade 7 & 8: Practices Monday through Thursday at Fox Field from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm. Home games are usually at 4 pm during the week at Fox Field and vary on starting time on the weekends at Fox Field. Away games can vary for starting times and with games during the week and on weekends.
Learn-2-Lax:
Boys & Girls Kindergarten: Sunday mornings from 9:00 am to 9:45 am at Payson Park. (Registration through Portland Recreation Department).
Boys & Girls 1 & 2: Sunday mornings from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Payson Park. (Registration through Portland Recreation Department).
- Equipment (Back Bay provides equipment upon request):
Girls Grades 2-8th: Stick, goggles, mouthpiece and cleats are required. Players should bring their own water bottle and will be issued jerseys.
Boys Grades 2-8th: Stick, gloves, elbow pads, shoulder pads, helmet, cleats, mouthpiece, protective cup and cleats. Players should bring their own water bottle and will be issued jerseys.
Goalies Boys & Girls: Goalie stick, gloves, chest protector, helmet, throat guard and mouthpiece. BBL provides goalie stick, chest protector and throat guard if needed.
Girls & Boys K-2: Cleats/Athletic shoes and water bottle. Sticks will be provided. If player has their own stick they can use their own. We will be using soft balls/tennis balls.
All players that sign up through Back Bay Lacrosse's website to participate on a team is required to have a USA Lacrosse member for insurance purposes. Go to USALacrosse to create an account or update your exisiting profile. If your membership will expire during the season, you will be asked to update the membership prior to signing up for BBL.
Carpooling is a common form of transportation in the program. We occasionally provided buses to middle school programs if needed.
Our goal is to have any child that is interested in playing lacrosse be able to participate regardless of financial situation. If you qualify for a reimbursement from Every Kid Sports we encourage you to apply. If not, we have scholarships available to cover registration costs. We also have equipment available for players too. Please reach out to president@backbaylax.com or complete the Equipment Request form under the Equipment tab.
